About
Let's do one thing . . . and do it well.
Welcome to The Common House, where our primary mission is to support women on their journey to recovery. However, the origin of our establishment stems from unique circumstances. Tony Pera, originally from Ohio, had dedicated over three years to the behavioral healthcare field in Southern California prior to founding The Common House. Taking a bold leap of faith, he proposed to his then-girlfriend and made the decision to resign from his stable job. Mary, who had also been working in the same field, recognized a pressing need in the community for a secure haven catering to women in recovery.
The idea of a communal space, where women could focus on recovery, flourish personally, and unite around a shared goal, began to crystallize. After extensive research, careful furniture selection, and numerous late-night discussions on turning their vision into reality, the realization struck—establishing The Common House was the natural next step in their lives. In April 2017, The Common House warmly welcomed its first residents. Committed to providing a nurturing environment, our doors have remained open to those seeking solace on their path to recovery.
